Maddie Herman is the Instructor and Program Coordinator of Sport Management in the School of Business and Education. Prior to becoming a full-time faculty member, she worked for GMercyU's Athletics department as the Assistant Director of Intramurals and Recreation for six years. Additionally, she has worked as an adjunct faculty member for sports management and business.
In her previous role with Intramurals, Maddie created a comprehensive Intramural sports program from the ground up, employing more than 25 student workers each year and serving more than 100 participants per year in various sports including flag football and basketball.
Prior to GMercyU, Maddie worked at Villanova University in the Athletics department in both athletics operations and fitness center management. She also worked at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia and with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Maddie obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from East Stroudsburg University in 2015 and Master’s in Education from GMercyU in 2019. Maddie is currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Education program at GMercyU in the Teaching and Learning in Higher Education track. Passionate about experiential learning, Maddie’s research is examining the importance of project-based learning for student success.
Maddie is a die-hard Philadelphia 76ers and Villanova basketball fan and loves all Philadelphia sports.
